Starting A Home Pilates Practice

We know that developing a home practice can change your life for the better, but I get that there are all sorts of deterrents to actually getting one started.

You may think: I need more space! But, in truth, you only really need the size of your mat.

You may think: I need more props! But, in truth, if you don't have a foam roller or bolster then use some rolled up towels. If you don't have a pinky ball, just use a book with a thick binding. If you don't have yoga blocks, just use a few thick books stacked atop one another.

You may think: I need more time! But, in truth, the primary joy of being an adult is doing things on your own timing and BREAKING NEWS: a 10 minute practice still counts!

You may think: I need more money! But, in truth, you just need a floor and to spend time with your breath and moving your body in lots of different ways. That practice is priceless.

You may think: I feel intimidated to confront the tightness and weakness in my body! Well, to that I'll say this: welcome to the club. We all feel this way because we were born human. Please choose to be friendly and supportive to yourself and USE ME! I am a great reference and you know me well enough to know that I will take good care of you.

Starting small, make it count, give back to yourself.
